Announcements Of General Interest to Coaches, Schools, and Officials

Member schools must submit announcements through the TSSAA Portal. Out-of-state parties may send announcements to tssaa@tssaa.org. Announcements will generally be posted/approved within 48 hours. Announcements are automatically removed after sixty (60) days.

NOTE: Announcements concerning play days, preseason tournaments or 7-vs-7 passing leagues/tournaments will not be posted. Also, keep in mind that TSSAA Bylaws state that all sports must practice a minimum of three (3) days from the first allowed practice date before working with another school.

Allen Co. and Scottsville High School will be hosting the 16-team Lady Invitational of the South tournament, December 27-30.   Scottsville is located about 20 miles southeast of Bowling Green and 60 miles northeast of Nashville. This is a prestigious tournament that includes top flight competition year in and year out. All classifications are welcome. Jackson Christian School will be hosting the first annual Hoops for the House Basketball Classic, December 27-30.  This event will feature four boys' and four girls' varsity teams, and they are seeking two girls' teams to complete the field against Jackson Christian and South Gibson.  This tournament will be a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Jackson, which provides free housing for families while their children are hospitalized. There is no entry fee, a three-game guarantee, and each team will have the opportunity to tour the new Ronald McDonald House in Jackson, TN. Riverdale High School will host the Volunteer Stainless Thanksgiving Tournament, November 25-27. The tournament will feature an eight team bracket play with a $300 entry fee to offset cost of officials. Daniel Boone High School will be hosting a Thanksgiving Tournament, November 25-30. They are looking for boys' and girls' teams to complete the field. There is no entry fee and teams will play four games over four days. Eagleton College & Career Academy is hosting a Pre-Christmas Tournament, December 19-21. They are seeking boys' and girls' teams to complete the field.  There is no entry fee.  They have an extra gym to warm up in to keep games on schedule. They are close to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and easy access from I-40, I-75 and Pellissippi Parkway. There is a $300.00 entry fee.  All games will be completed by 4 PM each day of the tournament, so you can make plans or arrangements for the evening, if necessary. The city of Maryville, TN, is close to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (in Knoxville) and also close to a variety of tourist attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (including the theme park Dollywood).
