Announcements Of General Interest to Coaches, Schools, and Officials

Member schools must submit announcements through the TSSAA Portal. Out-of-state parties may send announcements to tssaa@tssaa.org. Announcements will generally be posted/approved within 48 hours. Announcements are automatically removed after sixty (60) days.

NOTE: Announcements concerning play days, preseason tournaments or 7-vs-7 passing leagues/tournaments will not be posted. Also, keep in mind that TSSAA Bylaws state that all sports must practice a minimum of three (3) days from the first allowed practice date before working with another school.

Boys' Basketball
Black Oak Elementary School will be hosting the Jimmy Whitby Middle School Basketball Memorial Tournament October 24-26.  Games will be played at Obion Co Central High School. They are looking for one team to complete the bracket. You would play one game on October 25, and two games on October 26. There is no entry fee. Cleveland High School is looking for one more boys' team to participate in their Holiday Hoops Tournament, December 27-29. There is no entry fee. If interested, please contact Head Coach Reggie Tucker, rtucker@clevelandschools.org, for more information.
Nashville Christian School is hosting two Christmas Classics on December 27 and 28: 5th and 6th (girls' and boys' division); 7th and 8th (girls' and boys' division).   All games will start between 10:00 am and 1:45 pm. There is a $50 entry fee, and teams are guaranteed two games. Please contact Michael Peters: petersm@nashvillechristian.org, for more information or to sign up for your team.
Pigeon Forge High School is seeking one more team for their King of the Smokies Christmas Classic, December 19-21, 2024. Three days/Three games. For information contact Head Boys Basketball Coach, Phillip Chaney: phillipchaney@sevier.org.
Sevier Co. High School will host the annual Winterfest Shootout, December 27-30. The tournament entry fee is $300. There will be eight boy’s teams and eight girl’s teams participating in the event and there is a three game guarantee. They are looking for one boys team to complete the fiield. Silverdale Baptist Academy is seeking one more boys' basketball team to complete the field for the Silverdale Thanksgiving Tournament, November 25-27. There is a three game guarantee. Allen Co. High School (Scottsville, KY) 46 days old
Allen Co. and Scottsville High School will be hosting the 16-team Lady Invitational of the South tournament, December 27-30.   Scottsville is located about 20 miles southeast of Bowling Green and 60 miles northeast of Nashville. There is a three game guarantee with the possibility of playing a fourth game. Collierville High School will host the 24th Annual Dragon Fire Invitational, December 27-30. Games will not be scheduled on December 29. The tournament is the longest tenured girls' holiday tournament in the state. Sixteen team field for girls' high school division and an eight team middle school girls' division. Heritage High School is seeking one more team to complete the field for their Christmas Tournament, December 19-21. There is a $300.00 entry fee. All games will be completed by 4 PM each day of the tournament, so you can make plans or arrangements for the evening, if necessary. The city of Maryville, TN, is close to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (in Knoxville) and also close to a variety of tourist attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg (including the theme park Dollywood). Henry Co. High School is looking for four more teams to complete the Todd Latta Memorial Tournament, March 21-22. The entry fee is $300 for three pool games and a single elimination tournament.
