The Board of Control permits schools to schedule additional games over and above the maximum number permitted by the sports calendar for the purposes of contributing to special TSSAA fundraising programs.
In basketball, a team may play in up to three additional games the week prior to the start of the season. The funds raised for these games benefits the TSSAA Hall of Fame.
In other sports (baseball, girls' softball, girls' volleyball, soccer, girls' soccer, girls' flag football, boys' lacrosse, girls' lacrosse), each team may host one additional game during the regular season. The funds raised for these games goes towards the construction of the new TSSAA office building.
Hosting a game? Your school's athletic director must submit the form located in the TSSAA Portal for approval to host one of these additional contests.
