The Legislative Council requires schools to complete rules meetings each year. Some sports have scheduled in-person meetings, others are online only. There are no rules meetings for Cross Country.

Schools will be fined $50 if rules meeting credit is not on file prior to the Date of First Contest for each sport. Online versions of meetings will be available prior to every sport's Date of First Contest so that coaches can avoid the $50 fine for non-attendance. In addition to the $50 fine, TSSAA Bylaws mandate that head coaches be disqualified from postseason participation until the rules meeting requirement is met.
